I wonder how lent is going for you this year? – have you given things up or even taken things up, or maybe you’ve forgotten about it completely. I must admit that this year things have been so out of kilter that I’ve not been doing what I set out to do. But that’s OK, take a deep breath and remember that Lent is about coming back to God.
There are a few things happening in the parish which I hope will keep us focused on keeping Christ at the centre of our lives – This Announce has details of these – please do prioritise them in the busy-ness of our lives. It would be great if we could fill the slots of the 24 hours of prayer happening at the end of this week and also I commend to you the Passover meal happening on Holy Thursday. – Robert

Thank you to those who have let their names be nominated and more are welcome. We especially need nominations for Diocesan Synod Representatives*.
*The Diocese Synod is an opportunity to participate in the wider workings of the Church. E.g. the vote for women’s Ordination would have been debated at Diocesan Synod. The lay representatives vote from amongst their members to serve on Diocesan Council which then appoints lay representatives to the central church committees in Dublin. E.g. the Property Committee in Dublin has been discussing our plans for Ballincollig. They are vital for the running of local parishes like ourselves.
Both Diocesan Synod Representatives and Parochial Representatives serve for the next THREE years.
The Synod representatives attend annually for a day usually in June. For more information please speak to Ian or Robert.
INVITATION – On Saturday 29th April we will be having a renewal of vows and thanksgiving service for our 25th Wedding Anniversary – in St. Peter’s at 3.30pm followed by a party in the Parish Centre. Everyone from the Parish is invited to both the service and the party but we need to know numbers for food, so if people are planning to attend they need to ring or text me on 087 7753473 or email firstname.lastname@example.org Michael & Liz Kenning
Ps. No presents please, just your presence.
